'It Was An Instant Conversion'
My five-year-old granddaughter was distressed about eating meat, which led me to do some research on the health implications. One thing led to another and I ended up watching a Gary Yourofsky lecture (Georgia Tech). The horrifying treatment of cows and calves in the dairy industry had me in tears - I just couldn't cope with it. It was an instant conversion.
Within a month of ditching dairy (all animal products) I had lost weight, felt healthier and my constant sinus issues disappeared - the latter I still can’t explain. I suffered from Ulcerative Colitis and IBS for almost 17 years and after three months, I had almost no digestive issues (learned that certain fruits especially had to be avoided). It's been eight years now. I run, I cycle, I swim. I'm middle-aged and feel better than I did when I was in my 20's and 30's. The only regret I have is that I didn’t make the connection sooner!
